Learn Positive Thinking To Boost Self Esteem
If you have low self esteem, chances are you feel depressed as well. You need to raise your self esteem because it’s linked to your personal life and your professional life; basically, positive thinking to boost your self esteem will lead you to a happier life. Sounds easy, but not so. But at the same time, it’s not that hard either. Just follow this guideline:
Build on your Natural Strengths
Know yourself.
And then you can build on yourself. Only through objective self-observation can you tell what to work on. Only then you can you start thinking positively. Only then can you make positive thinking to boost your self esteem a habit.
How do you start? Start by writing down everything - I mean, everything - that makes you worried, or make you feel _any_ sort of negativity. Writing them down can lower the negative feelings associated with them. And there’s a difference between thinking about it and writing about it. If you’re thinking, “Gee, writing is too much of a hassle for me,” ask yourself this: How much is your self esteem worth? Do yourself a favor and take out a sheet of paper.
Be true to yourself.
Shorten whatever goals you have about yourself and make them easier to achieve. Chances are your goals are unrealistic; this makes you feel bad about yourself, especially when you’re trying to imitate others - those whom you probably look up to. Trying to imitate others by having unrealistic goals is the opposite of positive thinking to boost your self esteem.
Take gradual risk.
Hey, you know what? Everyone is entitled to a bad day. So you’ve got low self esteem, you know what? Little by little. Little by little, you can work on yourself. Maybe take up a small hobby. Maybe take a little break. Remember the little list of negative things you wrote above? Maybe you can make another list off of it, but this time make it an action list. Why?
Because every little, gradual action leads to self confidence. Let’s be realistic: if you’ve got low self esteem, chances are you can’t achieve those great unrealistic goals you’ve got right now, so take little steps! Then it’ll be like a snowball rolling down a hill, gaining momentum, and before you know it, you’re living a happier and more productive life! Now, _this_ is positive thinking to boost your self esteem. And if you think about it, that’s what life’s all about - meeting life’s challenges and getting back up again.
